It is forecast that in August the version TA>TW>TA>will only fit on a DVD, as will all hereafter. TA>TW> NOT true at all. There will be a "Readers Digest" version of later TA>TW> releases avaialble in CD sized ISO's. TA>TW> The Main Release of Ver 4.x will be on DVD and will have a HUGE TA>TW> selection of Public Domain Programs to pick from. And as I hear it it TA>TW> will be a LIVE DVD version. TA>TW>--- TA>Ve Vill see, ja ?-) This is what is said o nthe KNOPPIX web site. I don't know how I could make it any Plainer. *** KNOPPIX is a bootable Live system on CD or DVD, consisting of a representative collection of GNU/Linux software, automatic hardware detection, and support for many graphics cards, sound cards, SCSI and USB devices and other peripherals. KNOPPIX can be used as a productive Linux system for the desktop, educational CD, rescue system, or adapted and used as a platform for commercial software product demos. It is not necessary to install anything on a hard disk. Due to on-the-fly decompression, the CD can have up to 2 GB of executable software installed on it (over 8GB on the DVD "Maxi" edition). A complete list of software packages present on the KNOPPIX 4.0 DVD can be found here. *** The list of what is on the DVD version is 79 Pages Long. There was no list that I saw for the CD version but Common Sense says it will be about the same as on the current CD versions becasue of Space Limitations. --- þ SLMR 2.1a þ This note from El Cajon California USA * Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) .
