Subj : cleaning old 78 vinyls ? To : ROY J. TELLASON From : TOM WALKER Date : Sat Jun 18 2005 12:46 pm RJT> WC> Todays kids demand instant random access not the time consuming RJT> WC> sequential access we dealt with, LP's, 45's, 78's, 8 track ( yuck), RJT> WC> cassette, ( semi yuck) and reel - reel. RJT>Yeah, there's something to be said for random access all right. Which I g RJT>is why I tend to play my CDs more often than my tapes, even though I have RJT>lot more tapes on hand. Maybe I oughta rip 'em to HD and make MP3s out of RJT>them, or something. It can be a little troublesone. BUT it is a Very Smart thing to do. While CD's still have a finite life it is a very good medium. And as technology advanceces once you make the digital conversion upgrading to any better media that comes along is very easy. OF course be carefull of putting al lthe egs i none Basket. LIKE on a Hard Drive. As Disaster can strike them far easier than a CD or DVD. --- þ SLMR 2.1a þ This note from El Cajon California USA * Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) .
