BR> Nope, each CELL is considered to be 2V, float rate is 1.085x, per BR> commercial specs (sola) which gives 2.17 V/cell or 13.02 VDC for a 12V BR> "battery". Yes, 13.02 is mathematically right but this is speculating as in the field, as in my sloop, it does not stay there very long with all the little loads really adding up. BR> That's what specific gravity testing is for . Now you are really talking. Spec.Grav is the criterium by which one can tell the health of any lead/acid cell. That was also part of my tool kit. BR> I'm not looking for perfection, but I'm no dummy either We are all human, Ben. All suffer different levels of perfection or dumbness. I got a real education when dwelling on this subject of batteries for long term storage. SpaCreek and another firm in WA., put out some smart alternator controlers. But there was never enough storage in my sloop even when using twin D8s batteries. Do not try and lift one by yourself. I went to air generator, 4' propellor on a 80 amp alternator but if I let the batteries go down too much, I needed a gale to keep that alternator churning. Oh, well ! my experience. Hey, this nice Thinkpad is in full use again. ___ Blue Wave/DOS v2.30 --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5 * Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) .
