Have a close look, you RJT>might get lucky there. I nthe day of the 5 1/4 Hard Drives as I erecal they ALL has a connector for a drive light. They disappeared long abo and I don't recal lseeing one on and HS for quite a few years. The acticity light comes off the HD controller and if there is not on in the USB interface he is out of lick I suspect. BUT as I mentioned if he buys a Commercial USB external drive case most have the light he wants. On my 2 1/2 HD case when I plug it in I get a green light signifying suffecent power to operate is avaialble. SOME USB ports wil lnot power a drive and need an external power supply. Which of course also lights the Green lioght when plugged in. Drive activity i nindicared by a blinking Amber light. BUT I don't think any of that can be duplicated with a home build case and the bare USB to IDE adapter cable if it is the one I see advertized. In there ad there is just a Bare drive laying on hte table with the cable attached to the driveo n one end and plugged into the Computer USB port on the other end. --- þ SLMR 2.1a þ This note from El Cajon California USA * Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) .
