Are you really talkng about a USB to BR>| TW> IDE converesion cable? A Cable that allows the use of an IDE drive on BR>| TW> a USB port. BR>Yup. I will have several (only one now) External IDE Hard Drives that plug BR>into the USB port using these cables. HD Power is supplied via an external BR>auxillary PS @ 25 Watts, each drive requires 7.5W while active. In that case it is NOT possable to pass the Drive activity back through the computer USB port. That is one of the Advantages of the USB drive External Drive cases. Most have a smal ldrive activity LED on them. Adn if one uses a 4200 Laptop Drive in a lot of cases it can be powered totaly form the USB port 500 MA power capability. IT must be a direct PCI card or MB port.that is NOT shared with any other device. I have a Laptop HD USB exteranl case for a 4 gig drive that was made avaialble by a Laptop Upgrade to va 10 gig drive. Works great and I have the Winking and blinking activity light. --- þ SLMR 2.1a þ This note from El Cajon California USA * Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) .
