The ones I am talking about are form the Hard Drive manfacturers. They
run form a DOS boot disk. Western Digital calls theres "EZInstall" and
Maxtor "PowerMax"
These are "Universal" programs so one must use the one from the New HD
manfacturer.

Now yuo have thrown a curve into the picture. These programs may have a
problem with LINUX partitions. Althouhg if they are pure Bit copiers it
may not matter.
Any of you LINUX gurus out there ever upgraded a Hard Drive using one of
the HD manfactures programs?
