RJT>TW> Those programs are also avaialble for download form the Hard Drive RJT>TW> Manfacturers web site. I myslef have the ones form Seagate, Maxtor, RJT>TW> anmd Western digital and have used them ot replace Hard Drives with RJT>TW> Larger ones will NO problem. RJT>Do you have specific filenames handy that I could search for? And, what d RJT>these need to run? DOS? Something else? That one utility package I did RJT>download for the HP seems to want windows or something. The ones I am talking about are form the Hard Drive manfacturers. They run form a DOS boot disk. Western Digital calls theres "EZInstall" and Maxtor "PowerMax" These are "Universal" programs so one must use the one from the New HD manfacturer. RJT>TW> Ghost and Drive Image are Commercial Programs. Ghost and Image RJT>TW> thohhg have been combines as Symatewc bouht out Power Quest. RJT>TW> BUT if the manfacturer provides upgrade software there is little RJT>TW> reason to buy the commercial product just for the Hard Drive RJT>TW> Upgrade process. RJT>Yes. I also have a fair selection of linux tools, as well. Just need to RJT>out some of the details of how I should be using them, I guess. Now yuo have thrown a curve into the picture. These programs may have a problem with LINUX partitions. Althouhg if they are pure Bit copiers it may not matter. Any of you LINUX gurus out there ever upgraded a Hard Drive using one of the HD manfactures programs? --- þ SLMR 2.1a þ This note from El Cajon California USA * Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) .
