OVERVIEW: 
An LTC design engineer presents an overview of the No Latency 
Delta-Sigma analog-to-digital converter family and shows 
examples of the results that have been achieved in popular 
applications (weigh scale, isolated measurements, test 
instruments). Mike explains why for high-resolution applications, 
"Faster may not be faster." LTC's unique architecture allows its 
output to settle in a single cycle, thus eliminating throw-away 
conversions as required with other high resolution ADCs. The 
transparent calibration and single cycle settling dramatically 
simplify system software development. The integrated, highly 
accurate on-chip oscillator eliminates the need for external 
frequency setting components such as crystals or external clock 
sources. Our part can improve systems that use lower resolution 
ADCs with PGAs, greatly simplifying the overall analog front end.
