W- CDMA Rushes Ahead of 3G Rivals

New York, Nov 17, 2000 (123Jump via COMTEX) -- IMT-2000, the overall
designation for 3G systems, is evolving as the system that promises to be
the international standard for advanced mobile communications. It is now
being standardized by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) --
its goal is to realize globally one undiversified radio interface and a
wireless communications system that can provide a variety of high-quality
services equivalent to those of fixed communications.
