This week I journeyed into New York city to check out the Internet World trade show at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. Less than two hours into the show, a number of exhibitors suddenly panicked when they lost their Internet connections. "Can you believe this?" lamented one marketing exec as he tried in vain to re-establish a connection. "We're at an Internet show and we can't get on the web." Yeah, I could believe it, as could anyone who spends a significant amount of time in cyberspace. The information super highway is evolving nicely, as are the machines we use to cruise it. But let's face it folks, the on-ramps we use to access it could use some major renovations. I'm sure the exhibitors didn't find that fact the least bit funny, but me and God had a good chuckle. ======================================== --- FMail/Win32 1.48b * Origin: __________________________ (1:229/1) .
