I haven't any particular reason to get out to one of those stores just now. I was out there working on my car for a bit, got good and toasty, and am finally cooling off a bit... The cooling system is still full of water, from when I put a water pump in last week. Antifreeze can wait until a bit later, when it cools off some! There was some talk for a while there about them wanting to regulate all that stuff. And it seems that there are a lot more electric versions of this sort of thing around than there used to be. Which I guess is okay for the average suburban homeowner, but when you have a bit more than that to deal with the extension cords or batteries required get to be a bit much! I know of one "electric" mower that uses a set of six golf-cart batteries -- at $69 a pop! They don't last that many seasons, either... Me, I'd like to see more hybrid techology out there, which is workable for the bigger stuff like mowers, but not practical for trimmers and chainsaws and such smaller stuff. Ever look into HOMEPOWR? That's where we (supposedly) kick around alternative energy stuff... --- * Origin: TANSTAAFL BBS 717-838-8539 (1:270/615) .
