That's what I ended up doing for the old string trimmer - - got a quart and mixed my own, at about 32:1. It smoked a good bit. Last week at Home Depot, over by the chainsaws, string trimmers, leaf blowers and etc., was that expensive 50:1 oil. (see my response to Robert S). Come to think of it, I think I smell the government. I'll bet the EPA made the industry cut down on the amount of oil required in mix for 2-cycle engines, to cut down on air pollution. I recall our Federal Gummint were on the warpath awhile back over lawn mowers and etc. - for safety provisions and for all the "air pollution" they cause, even the 4-cycle ones. - - - JimH. ....
