While UUENCODE isn't "in play", you can do an "End Run" around a BBS's file transfer system by making a file UUENCODE, then using a "file splitter" to break it into pieces, and then -- finally -- posting it as a series of e-mail messages to the Sysop. I never said that it would be either a pretty, or an elegant, solution; however, it is a solution, never the less. Comment on #2. It really is a modem pool Modem Server gateway! It even says, "Modem Pool Server" when I log on! If I went down to the library with a polaroid camera and snapped a picture of hardware case, I am sure that it probably has the word "Server" or "Internet Bridge" stamped somewhere on the outside of the case....
