DO> FTP may not be available from the BBS proper, although it DO> probably supports Kermit. I have found FTP available on BBBS (not a typo) and I believe the author of WildCat! BBS said his software had that function also. DO> If it's anything like mine was, it simply treats the telnet DO> connection as if it was a modem. Sounds about right from what I've experienced here. DO> Trouble is, most modem download protocols contain transport DO> timing and error correction that can get very snarled over all DO> but the fastest internet TCP connections. And once the modem DO> protocol and TCP start fighting over who is going to send what DO> when, the whole transfer falls to pieces. I solved the problem DO> with my BBS by hanging a 5-minute retry timer on Zmodem, thereby DO> giving TCP a chance to do its job. I am usually able to zmodem download but not zmodem upload when telnet'g to BBS via the Internet. I've suspected that the config of zmodem at the BBS end of the transfer was not setup properly but haven't had a great deal of luck getting owners of BBS to look at the zmodem setup. Some just say it's hard coded and they can't make any adjustments (which sounds odd but may be true?). > > , , > o/ Charles.Angelich \o , > <| AngelFirecom |> __o/ > / > USA, MI < \ __\__ --- * ATP/16bit 2.31 * ....
