Subj : [--- SLIP/PPP FTP ? ---] To : WSMITH From : CHARLES ANGELICH Date : Sun Sep 03 2000 06:05 am 1230d2b9ed91 tcpip Hello Wsmith,- --8<--cut WS> This is the first time I have tried running FTP on a PC (my 48K WS> 8-bit 6502 was not up to the job of running FTP, which was why I WS> relied on the minis to do it, although it did do a passable job WS> with the Kermit protocol). Kermit? That might be a better place for you to start since the MSKermit for DOS is quite stable on a PC (even an XT 8086)? If you can access the Internet and usenet groups the kermit usenet group has many there who have made the tansition from mainframe/mini to the PC that might understand what you need to know better than I do (I never used mainframes or minis). I realize you want FTP and not the kermit protocol but the configuration and packet driver required to get MSKermit working on a DOS machine is the same or similar to what is required to get FTP07 WATTCP app working (same packet driver and connect procedures). > > , , > o/ Charles.Angelich \o , > <| AngelFirecom |> __o/ > / > USA, MI < \ __\__ --- * ATP/16bit 2.31 * ....
