Few BBS programs can do it, although they ARE able to send, say Zmodem over the telnet link, IF your telnet client can handle it. PPP and SLIP are link layer protocols for connecting to an internet service provider. Your telnet, FTP, HTTP, etc. services then run over that link layer.
