Once you are online with it, say over PPP, you can run ping, finger, smtp, nntp, telnet, ftp, etc. clients from it's command line. Assuming that Winston has started FNOS, and knows the correct name of the ftp server that he wants to connect to, all he has to do is "ftp ftpserver.some.bbs.com" and use it like any other standard ftp client. I use ftp from YAN, another KA9Q variant, to transfer QWK packets to and from this BBBS bbs using "get grab" and "put grab". I don't know how a Synchronet bbs handles ftp.
