     I dial up the server via telephone.  The server is "on the cable"
but the cable doesn't run to my house.  The server holds the domain
name table and provides the commands RLOGIN and TELNET.  The last leg of
the data path is my dial up modem.
 
     Thanks for the services list!  I'll see if I can do something less
complicated like get the time or finger the sysop....
