Subj : Polls to nodes with Internet connectivity only To : All From : Goran Eriksson Date : Mon Jun 05 2000 01:32 pm I'm running T-Mail 2607 for OS/2. I've got one master process that does nothing more than repacks the queue for the slaves, generates poll messages and starts certain external programs. This master process doesn't have any modem/Internet connected to it. Then I've got a number of slave processes with modem/Internet connected to them. I just discovered that the master process just won't generate a poll message to the following system Pvt,299,pbbs.dyns.cx,Porta_Westfalica,Sven_Dueker,-Unpublished-,300,MO,IBN, ITX:pbbs@gmx.net,IMI,IUC unless I define a fake phone number for it. (In this case the poll messages are intended to trigger outgoing calls from a binkp mailer run in a separate process.) I've already found that the slave processes run by T-Mail/TCP/IP will generate the desired poll message. But then they don't react on it until the master process has detected the poll message and recreated the outbound queue. Is there a way to have the master process create these poll messages itself without resorting to fake phone numbers? --- * Origin: GET, Lidingo, Sweden, +46-8-7655670 (2:201/505.1) .
