Subj : T-mail with mobile phone modem To : All. From : Ian Wilmore Date : Thu May 29 2003 10:18 pm Hello All. Ive been using T-mail for DOS for many years to collect my mail on my desktop computer. Recently Ive been trying to use it to do the same using a laptop and PCMCIA mobile phone modem but I just cant get it to dial out. AFAICS, all the settings are right. I tried the laptop with a PCMCIA modem to the landline and that was ok. I tried dialing out using the mobile and T-mail's built in terminal program and that worked - I reached my Boss's BBS. Its just the normal polling out that doesnt work. If I look at the log for these, T-mail writes "NOMODEM" . I normally use X00 but suspecting a Fossil problem I switched to ADF; but no change. What I cant understand is why, if T-mails terminal can find and use the modem, why wont T-mails main dialer? T-mail initialises the modem ok. I can even get it to dial by doing Alt-Z and then ATDTnnnnn. Its weird. Any Ideas? Bye now, Ian. --- FMail 1.22 * Origin: ian.stardust@softhome.net (2:250/501.9) .
