And you don't have termcap-compat in your dpkg query, huh? This is the first deb-based distro I've played with. I have to admit that Ubuntu is quite an impressive workstation OS. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool FreeBSD server guy, but I had the extra box lying around and a day to kill. Now I'm trying to geekify that as a server OS to see what it can do. So far, I haven't found anything that I couldn't get installed from either the Ubuntu "core" or "restricted" package trees or their links to other "universe" packages within the same Synaptic package manager. Plus, I've even already built my own .deb package for mplayer along with all the codecs for Windows, divx, etc. (well, with help from the web, of course!) Very cool OS that could have potential for the desktop moreso than others I've seen, with Mandrake being closest until now. Anyway, that's probably better for the Unix sub. :) --- þ Synchronet þ BBS Doors (www.bbsdoors.com) .
