It could well be... I first installed some parts of gcc3 from the Companion CD, but later decided to get with the packages from blastwave.org in /opt/csw. I'm rebuilding this as we speak from scratch... kinda Draconian, but there are other reasons, e.g. wanted a different partitioning scheme, changed some hardware, etc. When I'm back up and rebuilding, I'll use just the gcc3 package from /opt/csw, then let you know how it goes.
