Subj : Complie errors with Ubuntu To : All From : Smartyhall Date : Tue Jul 26 2005 06:07 pm I've used SBBS on and off over the past few years, and I have succesfully compiled on several Linux distros before. However, I just recently switched Ubuntu: Linux for Humans. I had to install CVS and several GCC components manually via the Synaptic pakage manager. Synaptic claims that curses is installed, but there is no curses.h file anywhere. (I did, however, discover a curses.so file.) I think this is the cause of my compile difficulties, as the list of errors I am given at the end of a nearly complete make seems to only invovlve screen and key related functions. (I know, I should have a list of errors handy, but it has been a few days since I attempted to comple, and the list is lost. I will attempt later, and post them if anyone feels it can help.) Stats: Ubuntu Hoary Hedgehog 350 Mhz P II (Soon to be 450 MHz P II) RAM - Unknown HD - 15 GB (Maybe; don't recall which one I stuck in the box. :-) ) Thanks for the assistance. -- Linux is coming...
