"Chattanooga Choo Choo" was a song, written by Glen Miller and performed 
by his orchestra some time around 1940.  The term did not refer to any 
particular train, and was actually inspired by a beat-up old train that 
ran on an entirely different line.

The song, BTW, was the first ever to be certified with a GOLD disk.
