What FTP client are you using? If you're uploading to the "uploads" or "sysop"
directory, then you won't be able to *see* the file listed after your upload is
complete (even if the upload was successful), unless you're logged in as the
sysop (or another user with suitable permissions). Perhaps this is the source
of the confusion.
