Done the switch and all looks good.  I'll now do a VERT call-out (with the 
internet connection *down*) and see what transpires.  I modified 
qnet-ftp.src as discussed.  A diff and logfile output to follow once I see 
all is well.

I can't think how to do this with BAJA.  Or JS for that matter.  That 
would have to be done by the code that packs the messages, surely?  Unless 
you post-process with a script to read through the packet and squawk if it 
found any messages with dates out of range?
