Well... to cover everthing it does would probobly need 3 or 4 mode bits...
which felt excessive to me for a single-shot use.  Offhand I can't think of a
reason anyone else would want to exit a text edit box using the % sign for
example.  But yeah, documenting it better is on my list of stuff to do (There's
even a comment about it in uifc.h!)
