My *simple* RE for that is:

	/V[^:alnum:]?[i1l\|][^:alnum:]?[a4@][^:alnum:]?
		G[^:alnum:]?R[^:alnum:]?[a4@]/ix

but I'm also trying to perfect one that looks for and ignores 
irr<photoscribe>elevant ta<is>gs betw<faggot>een let<master>ters.
And I need to expand the actual letters into wider character classes to 
include accented characters where these exist.
