which is easier to parse..? having specific designations for matching
tags, is less effort then multiple indications of what is the closing
point. it may had a marginal ammount to the html content, but the
parsing/browser engine will generally work *faster*
also, if you look at an html3, 4, and xhtml in ie, opera, and moz/ff
you will see *more* differences between them using older html spec,
instead of xhtml... mozilla most definately will have slight rendering
differences in xhtml mode, vs quirks mode, as will opera, and ie.
