I was trying to use the old text/relay.can file. Using ctrl/relay.cfg fixed the issue. I read the docs/v310_new.txt file and realized from reading it that the proper and easy way to adjust the relay file is through mail>edit>allowed relay list. Thanks a bunch, Rob! .
