Back in the day, I bought a USR HST 9600 modem for $300 used, they were double that new. I could use it to connect to the BBS I ran at work which had a dual standard USR HST modem, 9600 was great lol. I was fixing my Aunt's computer and I was getting a 26.4 connection and doing updates took forever, 56k was better but broadband is great.
