A quick thought... if your uplink is running SynchroNet, why not have him
set up the area to be both FTN and QWK, and then you can log into his
board using the QWK format?

I hub for a couple of other FTN networks, where I get my primary feed via
FTN, but I have a number of boards that poll via QWK for these
networks... Works fine.
