Subj : Someone set us up the bomb! To : All From : Mindless Automaton Date : Tue Oct 04 2005 05:41 pm Alrighty, I was foolin' around trying to set up Alpha Colony 6 (and failing miserably) The game would lock up, so I'd just remote to the bbs machine and shut it down. I tried a regular setup and then netfossil. Somehow, things started going wacky. The sbbsctrl process starts running at about 80-90%. However, I am able to log on still and it pauses every now and again. I log off, but I still show up as connected via telnet. (Syncterm does not display the disconnected box like it normally does when you log off) So I start looking at the log files and the ftp log keeps repeating "0492 FTP Server sockets closed" for about 10 minutes until I stopped the ftp server. After I stopped the server, sbbsctrl is locked up, but no longer running the cpu up. The ftp log looks like this: 01:42:06 0000 Recycle semaphore file (c:\sbbs\ctrl\ftpsrvr.rec) detected 01:42:06 0964 Server socket closed (0 sockets in use) from line 4486 01:42:30 0492 !ERROR 38 accepting connection 01:42:30 0492 FTP Server sockets closed (recycling due to changes in the door setup) Anyways, it was locked up so I killed the process and saved Doc Watson's file with the dump and stuff that error reporting sends to Microsoft. I can't seem to reproduce it however.. :( If you want to see some logs or the Watson dump, let me know and I'll set it up. Oh yeah, it runs fine now that I restarted sbbsctrl.. Thanks, Mindless Automaton .
