Subj : Another modding idea... To : Digital Man From : Time Warrior Date : Tue Oct 04 2005 01:15 pm From Newsgroup: alt.bbs.synchronet To: Digital Man Rob, I dont know if this could be feasably done for v4 or if this would be more of a headache that its worth, but here goes. For people who can code in js, it would be cool to be able to add features to things like the Synchronet GUI, SCFG, SBBSecho and anything else under the sun WITHOUT needing to code as imaculately as you do. Maybe with an update to the JS OBJECT MODEL, these SBBS Config Mods could simply be run as JS Synchronet Services. They wouldn't run on a "port" they would simply just "run". Well, if someone coded a deamon (which is ALREADY possible) it would. However, this would allow people to append the configs in things like SCFG and SBBSCTRL. Take Cyan's Synchronet IRC, for one example. It would be cool to be able to go into SCFG and under "Chat Features" you magically now see an option that says "Internet Relay Chat Server". Just a thought.
