As long as you have plenty of ram (can dedicate at least 256mb to the host, and emulated system, and have a fairly fast cpu >2ghz, it isn't too bad, but not nearly as fast as either alone.. to be honest, if you have a gui install of *nix, you can get sync up and running pretty easily, the doors are tougher... I run windows because I like it, and choose it, but there isn't any big reason to avoid a native install of sync, if you're already runing a *nix OS... -- Michael J.
