You're not going to believe that it will be slower than molasses and introduce so many incompatibilities due to the incomplete machine virtualization that you'll be going back to Windows very quickly. At least until you try it. Please note that running a virtual host operating system (as in either Win4Lin or Vmware) exposes you to all of the spyware/worms/etc that made you want to switch off Windows in the first place. They just run a lot slower because of the virtualization.
