Another alternative that may be an option for you, is using a freeware
program called VNC, or Virtual Network Computing (www.realvnc.com).

It's a small client and server package that allows you to remote access into
your PC using the internet and great for your own personal network to get
from PC to PC without leaving your chair.  It's not a 'DOS' shell, but it
gets you access to your desktop.
