Yes, hostnames will work as well.

The email.can is used to block E-mail addresses used in the RCPT TO or MAIL
FROM SMTP message envelop or the "From:" header field in the message content.

The spamblock.cfg is used to block SMTP mail sessions from specific IP
addresses or hostnames. Very similar to the ip.can, however, the spamblock.cfg
only blocks servers from conneting to the *mail* server (has no effect on other
servers) and it is auto-updated whenever mail is received for any spam-bait
address.
