Once you have the email address in the list and when someone tries to send that user a spam email it will now flag that IP address and add it the spamblock list. When I receive spam email I use the the "h" command to read the header and find the IP address of the sender and than I add it the spamblock list which also has reduced the amount of spam that I receive.
