Exactly.  Pandering to people who won't think is a useless battle.  If there
are not downsides, there's no reason not to do something that help them.  But
if it affects the ability or comlexity of people who do think, then it's a
mistake.  00index is a plain text file... I often use it with my console FTP
program.  00index.html is an html file and it's what I use when using a
browser.
