Hi all.
I have noticed that after connecting to irc.synchro.net, for instance, and
joining a channel such as #bbs, or #synchronet, for instance, although I
see that there may be several persons likewise connected, there is no
conversation.  I know my irc program is working because I've tested it
successfully with the irc server on my bbs, as well as a few other places.
I haven't used irc extensively in several years, so I'm wondering if the
customs have changed or is there a specific way to initiate a conversation
if help was needed or whatever.
