Have you ever entered a command something like: get "SmegChat v1.3 with the crash on entering (Win32 only) fixed" Of course, you'd actually have to do something like: cd "Main file Libraries" cd "Smeg Synchronet Add-Ons" THEN get "SmegChat v1.3 with the crash on entering (Win32 only) fixed" Of course, the filenames would wrap in inconvinent and ugly places... ftp to vert and get a directory listing... you'll notice that Synchronet_Archive wraps already... so you need to be carefull to track down the extra 'e' If you're using a clicky interface where you don't HAVE to type anything, the 00index* files are there... and you'll even notice that Synchronet_Archive plays merry hell with the format of 00index too. Long filenames are only "good" for people who never have to type them... and THEY don't need to pay any attention to them... go to 00index.html, find the description you like, and click on the underlined thing to the left of it. FTP will display the long description to anyone why cares to look for it... then, if you want to retrieve it, you only need to enter 12 chars max of the filename. Better get rid of that feature. --- þ Synchronet þ ``Penguins make tasty snacks'' .
