Just taking a wild guess here. Look in the setup (control panel), Mail 
server>SMTP and check the "Allow Authenticated Users to relay mail" and 
"Allow Authentication via POP3, Telnet"

If that has already been done or does not fix the problem, I'm lost 
(nothing new there. :)).
