Hey good idea. It has it's own FSE too, does it not? I've met George in 
person. He invited me to his house once YEARS ago. He lives / used to live in 
my general area. Unfortunately I could never get him to attend a BBS 
Gathering but it was cool to hang out with him and get the "programmers tour" 
of Nexus and it's source before he opened it (altho he didn't allow me to 
take home any code souvaneers, of course hehe).

It works alot like Mystic / TG / Renegade / Etc... so i'm sure SOMEONE could 
get it up to and beyond the "Mystic BBS Level" if they wanted to.

In fact, someone who can code in Pascal and C could use the Synchronet code 
to push it even past Mystic onto a more modern level. Just like alot of 
things with Synchronet are external (fossil, xtrn, sexyz, the list goes on) 
this same concept could allow for integration of features into Nexus without 
bogging it down.

Also, turning the Synchronet code into *.bin as opposed to *.exe -- as long 
as Pascal is able to "read the formats" Synchronet uses, alot of features 
would be able to be internal via the structure code. The current WFC could be 
turned into something more like SCFG, the Nexux exe's could also become bin's 
and a modded SBBSCTRL could read any Nexus formats.

This would also allow for being very compadable with Synchronet and give 
Nexux QWK, NNTP, etc... abilities. However, if anyone were to be motivated to 
do anything like that -- i'd suggest wating until v4 is done as to not play a 
future game of "catchup".
