None more source. Good question. Fortunately, I have the answer. I've lost track of "I don't like the way Synch does this" or "I wish Synch did that" and the Sysops that say this, if Rob doen't agree, are simply stuck. As for the programmers, alot of them instead of making Synchmods or taking the Synch code and making their own BBS Package, try (and fail) to bring older open source packages up to speed because they prefer the Sysop interface of those better. Seeing as your point that Synch can look like an do anything is true, and Synch is open source and powerful -- this not only applies to configuration but also applies to unsatisfied programmers as well. If an old school programmer would rather Synch did alot of things differently then it just amazes me that they haven't taken the code and granted their own requests. As for my opinion -- it would just be nice if Synchronet had alittle competition. Synchronet is great but new packages that are equally powerful would show that the scene is truly on an upswing. I think it's on an upswing (albeit slowly) but alot of people disagree. Some competition might get people motivated which overall, would be good for the BBS Scene as a whole. -- .---------------------------------------------------------------. | [TiME WaRRiOR] aka [Dave Kelso] AIM: Twar782 | +o Malkavia BBS | | www : synchsupport.net - malkaviabbs.com - xpresit.net | | www$: josephsjewelersonline.com - preferedinsurance.com | | @: time.warrior@malkaviabbs. com | \______________________________________________________________/ --- Synchronet 3.12a-Win32 NewsLink 1.76 * Malkavia - Chicago, IL - telnet://malkaviabbs.com --- Synchronet 3.13a-Win32 NewsLink 1.83 .
