Almost there.  It seems to be behaving properly now (starting/stopping/status
and all), but every argument gives the warning message, e.g.

root@ns2# /usr/local/etc/rc.d/sbbsctl.sh node

WARNING * WARNING * WARNING

     An sbbs process not matching the recorded PID has been detected.
     This may interfere with the running of this script.

WARNING * WARNING * WARNING
