Thank you for that bit of information... and for not smacking me for
not having checked for it before going through all this hassle. (grins)

Is there a way to specify in a config file where to put the sbbs.pid,
or would I just change it in the source code and recompile?

I run Synchronet without it ever being root, so that file was never
created (I did look in /var/run and such, just was being too blonde to
grep the source code)... I did a workaround and it works fine now, just
trying to figure out the best way to document the $SYNCHPIDF thing for
people like me who are entirely too paranoid for our own good :)
