(considers) I think there have been some changes to /bin/sh since the
version I'm using (4.9R), and there have also been changes to /bin/[  (
[ is a testing command), but I'm not certain if that would affect
anything... can you do a cat of the file?  It should be a single line,
just a single pid....if it isn't you can try this :

rm <pidfile>
killall -15 sbbs

then try sbbsctl start and sbbsctl status again..

If that doesn't help let me know, and I'll make the script more
aggressive about finding the pid stuff...
