I should add, for clarity, that this script was written on and for
FreeBSD, using /bin/sh.  I haven't tested it on linux, solaris, sco,
mac os X, etc... and I haven't tested it with any other shells
including csh, tcsh, zsh, bash, ksh, pdksh, etc.

It's just a little script to help me play with synchronet installed in
/home/sbbs as user sbbs, group sbbs, with everything (including the
script) ran as sbbs.  I'm not using root at all, or using the script as
multiple users or from multiple accounts.
