Also appreciate taking the time to prepare the script. Couple things... first, it doesn't seem to export all the necessary variables. When I start the BBS from that script, I get the following error when a QWK transfer happens with VERT: Aug 9 07:50:14 ns2 synchronet: Node 1 !ERROR 13 in pack_rep.cpp line 74 creating "/tmp/sbbs/event/VERT.msg" access=1537 Aug 9 07:50:21 ns2 synchronet: evnt Node 1 !ERROR 2 in un_qwk.cpp line 76 executing "unzip -o -j /usr/local/sbbs/data/VERT.qwk * -d /tmp/sbbs/event/" access=50 Also, it doesn't seem to recognize its own pidfile. When I echo the PIDFILE contents to the console, it correctly identifies the PID, but the script continuously grumbles that "Synchronet is not running" when attempting any actions that assume it is. (Naturally, a ps does show the process in memory at process id identified in SYNCPID.) Would love to get that running so I can startup cleanly at boot. That's my only problem thus far is getting Synch to start at boot. Fortunately, the BSD box stays up so long that's not been a real concern. --- þ Synchronet þ BBS Doors (www.bbsdoors.com) .
