This is Ryan from The Binary Cafe. I am having trouble with the New R-C> User page on my BBS. You can take a look, just go to R-C> http://www.ryan42.com and click New User. I get the following message R-C> (and so does everyone else, for that matter:) R-C> !JavaScript c:\sbbs\web\html\newuser.ssjs line 139: ReferenceError: R-C> UQ_NONETMAIL is not defined Go to http://cvs.synchro.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/ click on web, and click on download tarball, and upgrade to the latest web interface, which fixes the above error. R-C> Any help on this would be appreciated. R-C> Also, how can I go about setting up some type of SMTP server so that R-C> users on my BBS can send outgoing mail and recieve it and other people R-C> actually be able to reply? Have you enable the smtp/pop3 server portion of synchronet? I'll assume for the moment, your running the Win32 version, and say from the SCFG screen, click on the Mail Server tab, click on the Configure Mail Server... Make sure its running. If so, then when your in the BBS, click on "e" for the "E-Mail" menu , but go to the e-mail menu and send or read your e-mail. Your servers address would be whatever domain your currently using, such as (BBSID).synchro.net. The main problem you may run into with this is that your ISP may not allow outbound connections to external pop3 sites... if this occurs, you have 2 possiblities, one if your ISP will allow you to "Relay" your messages through their server... setup the relay section in the mail server. The second is to get a relaying service, that allows you to relay through a different port... no-ip.com, and others have this service, for a cost. Hope that gives you some info to look into. ....
